Hi all, About 2 years ago i found a American Fleet Sourvenir Medal of the 1908 visit to Australia and a barbers dime [1899]. Both relics were found a old country house were American sailors stayed during their visit here. Some 200 sailors from the USS Connecticut stayed in my town Bendigo in 1908.

Well with the long cold wet winter i been having i had to find other ways to hunt,so been driving around the country side searching for more relics relating to the fleet visit.

Went to a Sunday junk market and found what i was looking for a postcard of the visit and i only paid 2 dollars for it. Finally i can put the pieces , i have and a local newspaper cutting into a shadow board.

That's really nice. I love your country and the Aussies are such nice people as I found out while visiting Perth in 1995. The outback is beautiful and the Aussies like their Beer :icon_sunny:

excellant placing your finds into their proper historical context --ie this is how these items came to be here from their normal place the USA. --good show. and on the 100 year mark to boot.
