Re: Wow, Old ballfield cough's up a seated

Hi all, thanks for all the replies. I'll try to answer as best as possible. Coins seem to be in the normal range. 4 to 6 on the old stuff and 1 to 3 on the newer. Ground is so hard. A good rain would help alot.

The plate you see I accidently put a hole in it. Actually a slice. It was about 12 inches deep and was lieing flat down. Once you get that deep and when the ground is dry and hard it happens. It says Some weird name then a street in Pittsburgh. I think it has something to do with the railroad. I can see PRR. Not sure what it is exactly though.

I would like to one day write some stories for W&E. I think I could write some good colums for them. If I could just get the thought passed by the wife of me treasure hunting full time. Well let's just say I'd be happy.

Hey Floater hop a plane we'll do it. We treasure hunt hard core up here.

    Good Luck all HH Jeremy

That's great stuff. You probually aready did something like this but if not you can get two thin peices of plywood and stick the BENT dime in between. Then put it in a vice and squish it together to get the bends out of the dime without putting nicks on the dime from the vice that's why the plywood. That's pretty amazing how you always pull out stuff way older than the site. Seeing your posts makes me want to go detecting right now! Ha ha ha (it's late).

Re: Wow, Old ballfield cough's up a seated

Hey Matt, what's up. Thanks for the tips. It would take the crease right out of the coin. How did you know my box was full. I guess you tried to pm me. I had a few instances this year were I turned up a good coin alot older than a site. It just goes to show you stuff can turn up anywhere. Our city has alot of old stuff to still be found. Glad were younge and have many a years hopefully to search for it.

    Take care Jer
