    War of 1812 (sidewalk constuction)!!!

I only had a few finds, but I ain't complaining one little bit! Sidewalk construction... gotta love it!
It blew my mind to dig up a peice from the War of 1812, plus some other silvers shown here. A couple wheaties and one 1897 Indain Head cent not shown in pics.
So I have to wonder, if the War of 1812 had not pass thru my little town, would this have been here to begin with? Who know, who cares, it's mine now!

Okay everyone, I know... it's CONSTRUCTION not constuction! And PIECE of War. See it's like this... it's really early morning and I should be in bed sleeping at 1:12am and I don't have my glasses on either, it's really tough typing like this!

    Very cool coin.

The War of 1812 was fought from 1812 through early 1815. The 1812 coin you found has more wear than I would expect from 3 years of circulation so I doubt it was dropped by a combatant. Unless someone else found it and put it back into circulation before somebody punched that hole in it to hang around their neck.

Still, you have to wonder how that English coin got over here.

    A very interesting find.

Clad ain't bad but silver's better!
