Federal Artillery Button and set of "choppers" Circa 1820 "updated pic"

Went to an old site with my friend "Roz" and found this within 30 seconds of being there! NO KIDDING! FIRST HOLE! Best find of the day! ID'ed as a Federal Artillery Button but has differences between the circa 1820-1830 one shown in the link sent to me from "tymcmurray".(many thanks). The back says "EXTRA STRONG" with leaves around in a circle. The field is solid where the 3 dots are. The hitch to the cannon is different. The cannon can be seen running through the wheel, and the back of the cannon is more rounded with a ball at the end not pointed as the one shown as 1820-1830. Anyone got any ideas as to when this one was made or used? How 'bout them "Teef" too!?

Fantastic Find!

I can't help with the ID. I would recommend contacting PBK, who is the expert on buttons.

Congratulations!

Record of American Uniform and Historical Buttons
Bicentennial Addition

by Alphaeus H. Albert
says:

Artillery 1808-1821
Looks to be the #52B...BM would probably end up being "Extra/Strong";
"Lewis & Tomes/Extra Rich"; or "Superior/Quality"
this based on the spread of the 3 cannon balls and
the marks on the little thing in the back the pulls the cannon.

I would have left them where I found them. Maybe there is a body burried nearby :-\ Nice button. Hope you can get it identified. Cleaning up :icon_scratch: Don't know if you would want to or can

Re: Federal Artillery Button and set of "choppers" Circa 1820

i had several sets of choppers from my in laws. i always wondered if the metal in them was silver or stainless. too creepy to hold on to for very long waiting to see if worth anything. seriously was thinking of bringing them to the club where i bartend and mix up a couple drinks to freak out a couple of the clowns i hang with ;D. woulda been funny, just to creepy, had them maybe one day before tossing them.
i guess now one of you is going to tell me they were worth something. i had like five partial sets :angel9: :cussing: :laughing7: :toothy2: :angel4:

That is one sweet Military button there. My unc, Colonial Silver Zeus, found one very similar to yours about 15 years ago.

Keep the Military button fever high, hogge. :thumbsup:
