What a surprise to dig these! I was thrilled with the first one, but when I dig the second right immediately after it, and only about 18 inches away from the first one I was ecstatic!

Might not be the oldest ones dug, but I'll take 'em! Probably WW2 or just before, unless someone else can say for sure.

Back side is marked: "R LIEBMANN MFG CO NEWARK NJ". At least I think the first inital is an R. Couldn't find much about it on my searches so if anyone knows anything, feel free to post it!

Other than that, I got about $2.00 in clad. No silver, no wheats, but the 2 military buttons made my day!

The quarter on the pic is there for size reference only.

Nice finds, Those buttons are exciting to find. I have some but not the same make. I think they are general service eagle buttons from ww1 or 2 not sure. Regardless there alot better than a few wheats or a common silver I think.

Good Luck Jer

General service button. When you find more than 1 that close, you should check for more, at one time it may have been an entire jacket that got lost, might be more buttons. Quick, go check!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very nice Great Seal buttons!!!? I think they were used from 1902 through WWI, but changed before WWII.? I have 2 from 2 different spots and yours look nice. Clean them in some olive oil and they will look excellent. Bronze for service and gilt for dress according to Albert....
