As most of you know already I love my Spectrum XLT ~ it's been a great machine for me for years now! I bought a second Spectrum XLT from a guy for only $250 in late June of this year. The machine seems to work just fine, but for some weird reason all the silver coins that I've dug since I bought it was found with my older XLT that I've had since 1999.

But I changed that today! I went detecting for about 30 minutes after I ate lunch and used my newer XLT and dug a 1963-D Silver Rosie dime, two wheats ('41-S & '50-S), and about a buck in clad. This is my silver coin #60 for the year (that's not counting any of the WAR nickels).

This is the forth time in a row that I've dug silver on my short lunch break detecting trips. Every Wednesday me and a few co-workers go out for a burrito lunch. I eat a big ol' burrito, then go dig some silver, and then head back to my office with a full belly and silver in my pocket!

Thanks for looking!
Neil

Yup,Thats a big ol' silver. That XLT should be a quarter vac for sure. I can't remember if silver shows a couple of ID #'s higher or lower than clad.

Way to go. Nice dime. Sometimes it's good to get out and walk off a burrito. ;D

Looks like you and your new/used XLT finally broke the ice....congrats on the silver
Seems like I mentioned last weekend that you need to train the detector for what you want them to find. Your XLT seems to pick things up pretty quick so I'm beginning to think mine is a really slow learner. :'(
See you this coming weekend. Gold Nuggets :icon_jokercolor:

A lunchbreak Rosie sounds good to me! Congrats!

Yeah, it was nice to keep the silver streak going! . . . . last week a good-sized silver ring ~ the week before a 1944-S Merc dime ~ and the week before that a 1944-S Walking Liberty Half! Just one piece of silver each time, but I'm not complaining!

THANKS!

Does the "newer" XLT use those C type batteries or was that the older Spectrum type? Every time my one buddy (who I rarely hunt with) pulls out his old whites I always snicker cause it looks so HUGE. :D It will still find the silver though.

No, it uses 8 AA batteries. None of the XLT series use the big C batteries ~ those we're the older Eagle Spectrum series that used the C batteries.
