Early military button!!

Today I was detecting a GHOST TOWN and found an army button. I think it is from the Blackhawk indian wars from the 1870's on the back it says Horstmann & Allien NY. I have looked at all civil war buttons that I could find and no luck yet on the front of the button is a federal eagle with a shield and looks like an union officer button but has nothing around the edge, this is very confusing but this button was found in Utah and it is also my first military button for me .
Any help would be appreciated.

Looks similar to a Federal General Service button but your shield looks raised instead of stamped.
