Re: 13th-14th Century GOLD Stirrup Ring

First, I would like to say Congratulations on your Banner find..

Second, I would like to say your post of that day's experiences and events is just about the best story of a day in a Metal Detector's life that I ever read, from the change of plans to finding true gold treasure (half out of the ground, no less!) to the return of a precious memory to another...... Can't beat that kind of day....May you have many more.

The stirrup ring is very pretty, TK.

and double bonus you were able to find a ring lost by the farmer who allows you to search his land!

    That's GREAT!

the banner says it all wow!

I also want to say what a great story about the farmer. You know the conversation to his wife went something like this "see honey I told you I didn't loose it, I just misplaced it and that it would turn up" which probably ended with a skillet to the head.

See what Karma got you , you return a ring lost a few years ago and end up with one from hundreds of years ago.

Hi.....thanks for the comments, originally these rings were made for Bishops from the thirteen century that would be from the reign of King John 1199-1216, later on they became more dispersed, to people that could afford Gold rings even children would were them.
