Received permission earlier today to MD an old house I have been eyeing. Had a busy day in the shop and couldn't get out until this evening and only hunted for about an hour and a half. Started out slow near the house and got better as I worked away from it. Got the feeling someone's snuck in and did the normal spots. Anyway, got a few relics and then got a teaser dime (1965). Finally hit a couple wheaties and then a silver rosie (51). A few more relics and I called it quits. Never hit the one side of the house because there was about a thousand bees swarming near a window. Lot of yard yet to cover and wow, this yard was the hardest digging yet. I am about ready to give up hoping that any substantial rains will arrive this year here. There are a few whatsits in this group, name what they are if you know! Thanks for looking!

Nice finds Wallhangers, The item to the left of that small rusted buckle is an accordion or concertina reed. Look close at the base and there should be the "key" that it's in "A" "B" "C" etc.. I'm guessing an "A" from the length of it. Let me know!

You are correct! It appears as an A #. Thanks Jerry, I have another one of these broken and now I know what they are.

Man, you're off to a great start. I love starting a new/old property.
Any idea how old the place is?
Is that a large decorative button by the 5-sided buckle/brooch?
Congrats on your finds.

sounds like you need some wasp spray but wait till they are all in the nest or your in trouble. Nice finds and bet you will find nicer finds around that hive. Good luck and HH Tom

Very nice hunt!

I really like that "angular-looking" broach. . . reminds me of something Art Deco-ish from the early 20th century.

Take care,
