Collection military buttons dating back to the 1400's England and civil war ?

Hello, found this old wood box, looks to be very old, at a antique store, i know the guy that owned them and is a yard sale guy, he is not knowledgable on the stuff he puts out for sale and does not look his stuff up, i always going in his booth as he has good taste for old items , --- i was amazed to find this in his booth, ------- a collection of artifacts, it says on the tag artifacts from england, one looks like it is a U.S button to me, maybe civil war ? i see one button is dated 1484 or 1464, many of the buttons have makers name on the back, even the flat buttons, some need to be cleaned, alot of these were not looked at recently because alot of them were jammed under the wood and felt in the box-------this to me is one of my greateast treasures i have found and think it is very neat, i can post many pictures if i can------anybody knowledgeable on any of these it would be greatly appreciated, date regiment, value whatever you may know about a button, thank you very much treasureguy

I'd like to find me a box of buttons like that. :D Very interesting but nothing I see too over the top for value.

The American is post CW (1900s)

A 1400s button would not show a date. I don't see which one it is but the construction will confirm it is more modern.

it is the 4th picture above your post above the cannon and crown button, it is the button with the knight on the horse clearly dated 1434. 1484, or 1464---- most of these items i believe are from england, ---- i do believe i found one button that is a ww2, the one with the eagle and shield

I don't see any buttons you have posted that would date to the 1400s. (Most, if not all, are not close) The dated one I would guess is a couple of hundred year old pewter, possibly a little earlier but I can't ID it.

If I'm proved wrong I learned something today. :D

Sorry for the late reply. I looked at the PM at work & was going to reply when I had time.

Its an odd one that button. As it looks late 1700s. I would need to see the back. However, I'm guessing it could be 1784 (300 year annersary). It is however not 1484.

Read the above, its related to your button I think.
