First post and best find yet

I couldn't resist showing you my best find yet for this first summer of detecting. I must say I have been really lucky so far, not in terms of quantity, but quality. Today, I found my oldest coin yet, a 1799 half penny :

I never taught I would beat my previous best, a 1817 shilling

Crusader's right, I'm in Quebec, Canada. It was found on a new site that I've been exploring, on a path that is still beeing used today (found a 1976 penny pretty close by). It was only an inch in a half down in hard packed soil. The reading was a solid 82 on my XLT. THe oldest canadian coin I have found so far is a 1882 large cent. Seems I have been more lucky with english coins.
