Headed to Austin last week with the family to get out of harms way. Got to hunt one day while I was there on a soccer field and a small park for a couple of hours.

These kids in Austin must have pockets full of quarters!

I found a 1 dollar Monroe that I was stoked about.

Also found this steel Aztec (Pirated of the Caribbean) coin, steel.

Pouches full of pull tabs as well.

Glad to be home and ready to hunt!

Cool coin and a nice bunch of clad. Soccer fields look like a slam dunk. We got some of the wind from Ike here in central Ohio. Can't imagine how bad things were at your place.

LOL, Thats what my small cousin said. He assured me that if It hit the water that pirates would be showing up at my back door!

He said to make sure that I took it home to Houston with me he didn't want it in Austin. I actually like the piece, Its a junker that probably came with a toy but I like those finds.

You were lucky not to get caught in Austin....No digging in any park or school in Austin. My son lives there and hates the rule. They will run you off--or worse!

I agree Shaw!

There's always a fun story to go with stuff like the pirate coin for kids...

They can look at valuable items, and NOT be impressed, but something like that is great!

I was with a lobbiest and he signed a petition years back to keep out MD's in local parks.

He was the one with the digger and vibraprobe!

I did some hunting in Austin. (My daughter lives there). I phoned the local PD and they said to have at it! No one bothered me. Hmmmm, strange. Didn't have time to do much but I did notice the fire ants all over the place. Those little buggers are nasty. Monty
