Ohhh, "that" laptop.
You had me worried. Was afraid I'd have to remind you that your lap always disappears when you stand up.

Laptops normally have a much shorter lifespan than desktops. There are also other choices, like a decent tablet....but that's getting out of my familiarization range. Also, lots of folks swear by this new Windows 10. I'm using Win 7 and know nothing of it. BUT, things change with time, so I'll probably be forced at some point to change systems.

...Maybe you should talk to Nitric. I hear his laptop is held together with baling twine, duct tape and chewing gum!! :laughing7:

Get yourself a thinkpad, they are build tough, very good machines and will outlast many other brands. I have a W520, that's plenty of power even for video editing and rendering.

well it has happened so now I get to go shopping yaay! (not) I'm at work now.

I think dave and OV trained my wifes cat. It jumped up on the desk and spilled my beverage all over the keyboard.
It seems that liquids and electronics do not like each other.

If you can't use it anymore, better looking for a laptop which you can use. Laptops released nowadays has long life, I can say. But still, depends on the usage and how to take care of it. Good luck! :)

Never been a fan of Laptops. Bought one (Acer) about 10 years ago,
and it serves on occasion as a back-up unit.

Just bought a new Dell desktop right after Christmas, and so far I'm thrilled
with how it performs. I was a diehard XP user, but the new unit is running
Win. 10. Followed the advice of a friend and disabled all the "report data
back to Microsoft" features, and found it to be very user friendly.

Computers..love 'em or hate 'em...ya gotta have one to survive in this
new, techno-world.
