Sweet CW Finds 3! Good Finds With Pics!
The first thing I'm gonna say is WOW WHAT A DAY!!!
My father and I met up this morning at 9:00 a.m., to hit the camp we found last weekend. We made a day of it. I found a spur really quick, my second one, and daddy got in to some lead really quick. I back tracked towards the area that I had found the US Bit Boss last Saturday....and BAM!!!!....Another US Bit Boss. We continued until both of us were ready to eat lunch, so we left around 2:00 p.m. While we ate lunch, we discussed covering some different areas of the property, because we really had only hunted a small area. Daddy suggested that we scout some more of the property to see where we should start tomorrow...(Monday). We returned and started swinging again. I dug up some more small buckles and horse accutriments....We had been talking all week about how we hadn't turned up a button last weekend, and at lunch we had mentioned it again....When all of the sudden daddy looked up and said, "We've got one"! I said, "Got What"...then I noticed a smile from ear to ear. I walked over and he was holding a button. The button still had soil on the front, so I retrieved some water and a tooth brush from the truck. I got back, poured a little water on the face and gently tuched it with the tooth brush expecting to see a general service eagle looking back at me.......I was wrong...IT WAS A TREE!!!!!!!!!!!! I just about fell over. Daddy had just found his first button...A complete CONFEDERATE SOUTH CAROLINA STATE SEAL!!!! WOW!!! We hunted on a few more minutes until dark....planning our attack for tomorrow morning....MORE TO COME!!!!!
Here are the pics of our finds from today 3/15/09!
My finds

More of my finds

My second US Bit Boss from this piece of property

My second spur ever, little bent but I'll keep it!

Another pic of the spur

Top portion of a oil lamp

Lamp again

Could this be part of a reciever? or something else on a gun? It has some stamped numbers on it...look at right side of object.

And again

I also found this arrow head when digging a target

Sword Hanger?

Daddy's Finds

Last, but absolutely not least, Daddy's South Carolina Button!!!

Another pic of the front

Here is a pic of the back of it!!

I will remeber today for the rest of my life. Not only did we recover some great pieces of history, but I got to do it with my father...Probably one of the best days of my life.
