My BEST NATIVE FINDS FOR 2009 "2 very Rare pieces"

Hi again , Was a toss up on a bunch of finds that I made this year until I spoke with a few experts in the field.

It turns out that finding these Medicine wheels are as Rare as Finding a G.W Inaugural button. Let me

tell you that came to be a big surprise , These wheels were most likely wrap ed with dyed porcupine Quiles and

either adorned Pipes or quivers as per there size , they may also been attached to a Buck skin

bound handle as a prayer stick for Major ceremonial purposes. I will never forget finding these charmers

Thanks to Dave "MUDDYHANDZ" for sharing the Moment

Wow, Hardy, those are going to be hard to top as far as rarity. I had no idea about medicine wheels before you posted these.

That is some very special finds.
Det vi vet er så uendelig lite mot det som har hendt. Arkeologen er som den som går langs en strand og finner småtterier, skyllet i land fra et forsvunnet skib. Men selve skibet som gikk i dypet med menneskene får han aldri se.

BedfordBob, you said it in spades. This is what it's all about, preserving history! Boy, it would be neat if there could be a special place to honor finds like Hardy's which are so rare and hard won, but at the same time so obscure that they often have little chance to be fully appreciated. I LOVE this hobby too man!! I'd even bump the name up a notch when I see stuff like this and say it's a "calling". Nice finds Hardy!

You guys hit it bang on , I research the heck out of the finds that I get and I often think about the Individual(s) that
lost them. Their Day to day lives , what the surroundings may of looked like at the time and yes I probably stood up to 15 Min's
in the woods day dreaming beside the hole that I dug , pondering about the past that linked me with the find. God we are
    a lucking bunch with a great passion/Hobby

Thanks for taking a moment to reflect on the people or person who may have owned the relics you have found and treating the obvious spiritual and religious items with respect. Its a great passion/hobby that we share, thanks again for posting.

Thanks Gang for all your kind words , Eventually all my display cases and wall hangings will be given to the local library

so that maybe some one may stop and reflect about our great history of North America.

WAYYYYY cool!!!You know its funny, the first thing I thought when I seen you originally post those wheels was that they were Quilled!I lived on the Crow Agency Reservation for a short time and fortunately took the time to learn how to do bead work, but never could get the quilling down,THATS AN ART!!!
