bottle hole 3 took 3 hours to dig this big one out of the clay
hi all. Went back to the bottle hole about 5.45am. Picked up where i left off. Down to about 8 feet know.I digging down on angle ,keeping one side higher. i stand on the higher side with my back to the wall of the hole. Why so if theres a cave in its not on top of me.I dig down a few feet then back fill and change sided. Sort of double handling and redigging but it keeps me safe. The content of clay is rising so its slow going.it took me 3 hours to get this 0ne gallon beer demi-john out.By 8 am it was time to leave as the temperature rises quickly and by 11 it will be nearly 95 degrees[f] .Will have to leave the dump for a few days as i go back to work monday and most of week will be too hot to dig .Here,s pic with other finds of this year to show how big this demi-john is.

Re: bottle hole 3 took 3 hours to dig this big one out of the clay
hi all, i decided the other day i might go bottle hunting for a while as the gold season due to hazards is closed as far as i,m concerned.Going up the Darling River in NSW in 2 weeks with a couple of bottle divers i know. These guys just cream me at finding stuff in the muddy water.Their using a stationary engine pump with twin drag lines.@ bets i get to watch the pump for hours on end like last time.

3 hours well spent. I guess you wre thinking what I used to when pulling out a bottle; 'please be whole', many times getting to the base or neck & finding it missing
Never found a pot lid (decorated), it was on my list, but that was as a kid & I no longer have the dumps to dig on, very hard to find now, most have started diving the rivers.

Awesome Tinny!!I love it!I really like the bottle on the right,it looks like it has an anchor on it?It is one of those Marble stopper ones that you pushed the marble in to open it.....I think.
