Pile of Civil War Relics! Man Was "I" Lucky!!
Hey TNet!
Today my family and I figured what better to do on a windy 30 degree winter day than metal detect. So we decided to dig for the last two or three hours till dark, at once again one of our favorite spots. We threw on plenty of clothes hoping to find a few relics to come home with. We really weren't anticipating much more than a couple of bullets but that's not what we ended up with. We found another pocket of relics and the bullets started pouring in.. but my best find for the day was the third thing I dug! As we were digging bullets I got a faint hit that meant it was going to be good. At about 10 inches I saw the button pop out and immediately called my son over saying its a "big button." We were anticipating another union state seal button, but I soon realized it wasn't a state button.... IT WAS A BLOCK I! This is only my SECOND confederate button and is my SECOND block I. So we kept hunting until the sun had set and walked away with our pouches full. Here some pictures to help share the excitement with you!! Enjoy.

Well I was personally using the Whites TDI which has been a terribly long learning process.. if there is any iron around. But today it paid off. While my eldest son was using the Whites MXT with the D2 head for depth. Between these two machines we have been doing pretty good if i may say so.

I looked at your badges, personally I believe that they are some sort of public community event badges such as a fair. Since they were all found near one another, they were most likely discarded by an individual who could have been in charge of said event. My guess as to the age of the badges would be 1930s to 1950s. Hope this helped. And thanks for looking at the posting.
