    It's Took Ten Years.....Saxon. Updated.

One of the things most wanted on my wish list, has always been a Saxon Silver Sceat :P I have watched outher people pull them off all round me and they have always eluded me not anymore from the field that I have done so many times and have had great finds from, a early saxon Silver Sceat

Not 100% with the ID yet but I think it's a series... A 675-685... I will update later. Today also turned out to be a Cracker I also managed a base Saxon Styca...my eighth and my first Roman Silver of the year...Vespasian, again I will update the coin later

we tryed some new fields today at first before moving back to our productive site :P were we found some nice Geargian finds, including a couple nice buckles, and a unusuall counterstamped Geo111 I will have to do two sets of pictuers as there were a lot of finds

I hope you enjoy the pictures of my Milestone find

Might be Series R with runic legend MCF, however it has elements of series A as well. Its a little unusual compared to Tony Abramson's examples, need a good ID, might be a not so comman variant.

Funny how our first Sceat's (mine last year) & yours are near perfect examples. I know what your next couple will be

    BANNER all the way!

The Roman Silver might be a early forgery

Thanks Cru I just got back not long ago, so just had a quick look :P I will send of for the correct ID, just in case like you say, could be a not so common one. We usually get Northumbrian Sceats up this way

Nice sceat Colin, that's what you call a good days detecting . The sceat looks almost exactly like one I found last year, the only difference being the Is in the votive standard on the reverse. Yours are slanted, on my sceat there straight. My sceat is classed as an early series type 'R'. Once again way to go colin.
