This very little find is definately one of my very best.
It is a viking age sword amulet / talisman found at a viking age trading place.
The amulet is only 3 cm (1.18 inches) long and a very rare find.
It is nicely ornamented and on the back it has a small eye so that it could be carried.
I am not exactly sure of the dating of the amulet, but it would be from the period between 750 and 950 AD.
The amulet was found at a viking age site that I discovered in the spring of 2008.
The place has given me and my detector collegue many, many finds since then.
The total of finds, counting all the small pieces too, would be running up to a thousand till today.
The Past Tells the Future! Let's try not to do it over .

Few things I love to do is , Metal Detecting for anything of the past!
Making Detectors better ! Tuning and finding ways to upgrade Detector hardware , To make them work the Best that is possable !

... or is it only that Roman and Celtic stuff ?
only just, I'm on the edge of the Dane Law. So maybe only get 2-3 items a year
