    NY Militia

Tried a new field today and found a few keepers. A NY Militia button, Alberts NY-10A: New York Militia. A 1859 Indian, buttons, and a neat little buckle.

Nice job! That buckle could be the buckle to a neck stock...a throat protector worn by soldiers to protect against being stabbed. I have one that looks just like it that was authenticated by experts...hence my thoughts on that.

    Again...well done!

Nice. Part of my family served in the green mountain rangers. Is this the kind of button their coats had?

    Re: NY Militia

Thanks all, the button was the first find of the day. I walked into the field and checked the ground in front of me so I could ground balance and I got a solid signal, wow, that should happen everytime... Arty

    Thanks kuger, makes sense....

Thanks Steve, I couldn't tell what it was but could see the eagle. Great moment...

Thanks Vol1266-X, I'm not sure about the cufflink , I have viewed others on T-net and that has been the consensus. I thought it was part of a pushpin. Rust at the large end.
