Forgot to post this beautiful colonial button from the hammered silver/cob site
On a previous trip to this site where I didn't find enough to post I dug this ornate button that cleaned up really nice. The first pic is after a rinse and toothpick cleaning. I decided at that point to jelly it and it came out great. The shank is still completely intact and straight as well. Not sure of the age but I'm guessing mid-to-late 1700s. Definitely one of my better looking colonial buttons for sure.

I got one like it last year as well, although mine had no shank & wasn't in as good shape

Do you have an idea as to the age??
It's about 1780 - 1820.

I went looking in my case because I know I've dug one or two very close to the same, but they must have been in poor condition and I didn't add them. But since I grabbed it here's three that are the same idea.
