I found my first ever silver today..Its not much but its my first so I'm extremely excited. I found it in the park in my town where some bleachers used to stand. The earliest mention of the park being used as a public meeting place is from a newspaper in 1906 so I knew it had to be a good place to look. Was only there for an hour, I found around 3 dollars in clad and this 1944 merc dime. Again, I know its not much but its my first and my heart skipped a beat when I saw it pop out of the ground. Hope yall like it. (The background of the pic is a crappy old cracked painting from my friends room...figured it would bring out the details in the coin better than anything else)
Congrats on your first silver! Keep at it and more will come. Too bad the Merc wasn't minted as shown, it would be worth $$$
LOL i originally responded with an asinine response because i didnt quite understand what you had meant....psh yea i wished i dug it out of the ground with everything completely reversed...that would be amazing haha...not sure how or why that happened with the pic in the first place..but thanks for your congrats
Congratulations on your first silver! Mine was also a mercury dime (not in good as shape as that) from about 4 inches down. Now you know how they sound out so I'm sure there will be plenty more in the future! Keep it Up.

You're welcome, now go back to the park and pull your first Barber.

FYI... Man that's why we do it!! Any Silver coin that comes out of the ground, we all I think get that little rush.
It's a great feeling and makes me look forward to my next hunt.
Great find! Remember that the ground we hunt is kinda like a layer cake. you got to get threw the first layer to get down to the next, keep pounding it, you'll get to the goodies
