1800's cellar hole gives up some Feb finds !
Hi TNet TH'ers , Groundhog sees shadow and its sixty degrees . The mild weather has been a blessing here lately . mid 50's . Met up with long time friend and old home site relic seeker , Silent Bob , he uses a Whites dfx. He was granted permission and called me up to help search the location of an early 1800's home with a cellar hole . Nice time there and a few buttons and relics were dug . First find was dug by Silent B , it was a nice 2 piece Philadelphia Pa. police button . not sure how that one ended up here . In the mean time all I was diggin' were square nails deep ones with the CZ Took a while to get another button , this time it was my turn ... thought it was a largie but it was old dandy . both found some cool stuff a few shards , weird vin bottle . We'll be looking at that one again somewhere down the road . Day two , I turned Bob on to one of my sites , we worked an area for an hour , nothing then Bob saved the hunt . He scores a 1915 barber quarter , sorry bout the blurry pic , fine detail . Great looking silver caused quite a bit of excitement . Waves me over and says , cool I was able to get a few Indianheads , 1916 mercury .. no D but decent silver , some wheats , and a strange P.O. D. two piece button , button with a Jacob Reed & Son Phil. backmark , any id help would be appreciated . Large cent streak ended but enjoyed a lot of laughs and great time with Bob on these two searches . He doesn't say too much but I could tell he was happy to get the barber Thanks for stopping in , dawg

I love the Police button... I can just imagine how it might have gotten there.. Maybe they were chasing some bank-robbers who had just robbed a bank, and hid their loot out in the woods.. it ended in a struggle, where the button had popped off.. Ok.. Ok.. I am NOT a writer, but it makes you wonder.
