This week's Civil war camp hunts, 2nd Kepi letter - video
Got out on Saturday with a coach from the local high school for a 4 hour hunt on a new piece of land, then today went back to the same yard I've been hunting and pulled another nice kepi letter. The relics are about half saturday, half today.

A few .69s (one wormed & two carved)

A few melted .69s and carved pieces

not sure about this blade with the pin attachment?

Eagle coat button & Eagle "I" cuff button

lantern piece, sling buckle hook, cartridges, suspender buckles, buttons etc

Any ideas?

I believe this is Civil war era? Please help date it.. I've seen some like this labeled as CW-era (posted in What is it 1920s)

Colonial looking shell-back spoon bowl (2nd one ive found in local CW camps)

Kepi company letter "D"

last two posts from this yard (1/10, 1/17 & 1/24)

I think you can be any where in the U.S and manage to pull the oldest/nicest relics from any area.

Kitchen knife with a bone or wood handle. Nice digs. The letters and insignia are my favorite things to find. You are in a nice little camp. I hope a trash pit turns up, nothing like civil war glass..

I think the whole backyard is a trash pit.. seems every hole has ash and broken bottles I got into one hole today and dug down a couple feet and pulled out 100+ square nails and bottle pieces, don't think there are any whole ones there

I'll be back, I really thought the place was done and the man talked me into hitting the yard again today as I was just there to drop off a few relics for his grandson.. Really shocked to see how much I had missed.
I fooled around with the discrimination setting on my machine today a little
