    Found in a forest area

Tooling around back in the woods. Came across these. All hand forged. Not sure what the piece underneath the horse shoe is.

It dosn't look like an oar lock to me. It looks to be threaded at the base. Maybe a pipe stand off or holder of some sort.

Re: Found in a forest area

Well, the first thing I thought of was some kind of steady rest for a long gun. If setting up an listening outpost, ambush,
guard post, etc... screw it into a timber or log being used for cover and then lay the barrel into it. It would be a great "monopod" for that purpose. I don't know anything about the history associate with weapons and tactics of that time, but that was my thought.
The faster I go the behinder I get...

Hi, Could be a rein guide on an old horse drawn wagon and the pieces of curved steel look like leaf springs for the seat or wheels Paul
