This is a BANNER coin--THE copper to find!

Unbelievable, and in great shape too. Careful with the reverse and your cleaning methods--but I don't have to say that since I'm sure you already looked at the price tag for this baby.

LOOK on the back upper left side. you can see the links (chain) i only gave it a very light cleaning as not to disturb the detail to much.

Re: I STILL CANT BELIEVE IT-! chain-cent 1793.

There were two different reverses on the chain cent. One of them said UNITED STATES OF AMERI. on the back and the other said UNITED STATES OF AMERICA on the back. The one with the abbreviated AMERI. is more valuable.

    AMERI. America

Re: I STILL CANT BELIEVE IT-! chain-cent 1793.

Is that just caked on dirt on the obverse? It's odd looking. Are you going to clean it more? This is a banner item if it is really a chain cent!

Are you sure that's a chain and not a wreath?

I hate to encourage cleaning, but I sure would like to see it without the dirt!
