My favorite quotation
This is one of my favorite quotations.
Mark Twain:
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines, Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

"Embalm, cremate, and bury - take no chances"

Liberty is a well armed sheep protesting the vote.

"Gold is good in it's place; but living, brave, patriotic men, are better than gold"
A.Lincoln - 1864
This one is almost perfect for these times:
"The political horizon looks dark and lowering; but the people, under Providence, will set all right"
A.Lincoln - 1860
"The spirit of resistance to government is so valuable on certain occasions, that I wish it to be always kept alive. It will often be exercised when wrong, but better so than not to be exercised at all. I like a little rebellion now and then. It is like a storm in the atmosphere"

Re: My favorite quotation
You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom.
What one person receives without working for it, another person must work for it without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation.
You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
