Handicapped Plates
I was debating which section to post this, either this one, or Personal Rants.
Sometimes I wonder what goes through the heads of the people working for the DMV, handicapped plates is my thought for the day.
I was just making a short run to get cigarettes this afternoon, driving along at maybe 42 MPH max in a 40 MPH zone. Sure enough in less than 50 yards ahead, a man is rolling through the stop sign and into the traffic ahead of me.. I know it was less than 50 yards, as I play enough golf, and If I had to hit him later it would be with a "lob wedge". Always use the proper club for the proper distance.
This brings me back to the original point.. Stupidity is not a handicap, well at least not yet. I am blessed with mixed feelings about living in old town, so you have to take the good with the bad. During the day, you really have to be your P&Q's for these cars as they are out in full force. At night, driving is so much easier as most of them are at home. The bad in this case is those handicapped drivers that have no clue how to drive in flowing traffic. I know that if I see a car even less than 100 yards from me in a 40 MPH, I'll wait for him to pass, then go.
To combat this and other stupid driving, we should all have a dart gun the shoots a stupid dart with a red flag into the car. Every time a policeman see a car with at least 3 darts, should pull him over and give him a ticket for being stupid. It not only raises township revenues, but also warns others about the idiots we share the roads with.

Sometimes I think a paint balling would be a good way to pay back some ADA Driving A-Holes's...
Pull up alongside the driver at a light after you'd been cut off and unload...
Psychedelic pink paint...that'd stand out

Re: Handicapped Plates
To me, speed limits are set for the incompetent driver. My third worst fear are women drivers.... they are actually afraid of what they are aiming. I hate to get on a 2 lane road and they are speeding....doing 28 MPH in a 40 MPH zone and there is a no passing area. I drive a lot .... around 34K miles a yr. And, I've always used a manual tranny, not like most people who have an auto tranny. Oh yes, get the auto tranny, put it into "D" for 'Devastation', and aim the vehicle where you hope to go.
I had a 2002 Explorer, 5 speed stick with a 210 HP SOC and a 245 CI engine. In 8 yrs in dragging at stop lights, I was 106 wins with 5 losses. Twern't good enough for me. I purchased a Nissan, 260 HP, 6 speed stick, DOC 245 CI engine and it really moves!! Sadly, I'm 5-1 in dragging now due to me miss-shifting from 2nd into 5th. At the time I was a car ahead.
In the olden days, I ran 5 cops.....got away 5 times. Oh yes, I've calmed down a bit, but not much. By the way, I'm older than 96% of the people on this site. Zoom-Zoom!

You're arrogance is appauling.I HAVE A HANDICAP STICKER ON MY VEHICLE

Re: Handicapped Plates
Sparticus, many of those handicap plates are for vets that have paid their dues. Your solution? Sides mine are free in Az, he he he
Always a parking space where there aren't 'too many' illegales.

Bad driving habits, are bad, no matter who they are made by... The only compromise I may make for a vet is that he can have 4 darts before getting a ticket for being stupid.

Spart: "Bad driving habits", now that I can agree on. but remember that it is not confined to DA plates or seniors, most teenagers have already developed them.

All I'm saying in this post is to be extra careful when you see those plates. It seems they have some of the worst driving habits and I stand by my post 100%...

When I go by the doctor's offices I can't help but notice all of the "empty" handicap parking places but, when I go to the casino, they are all full. What's with that?

Re: Handicapped Plates
Around here alot of those plates are on cars not driven by the person they belong to, or are for they are by family an friends with the handicap person not even there. We have had them a couple of times for temp use back when daughter was in halo traction for like 6 months then again when Jacob had his leg surgery last summer we had one for the summer. And there was no place to park. I know a girl who used jer dads just cause she didn't want to walk very far.
On a brighter note a liitle kid on the bus I am an aide on (special needs) + kids an others (he is fine) he was looking at the placard and asked about it I told him what its for and he looked around the bus and said "I don't see any handicaps" once in awhile

Re: Handicapped Plates
Maybe you folks already saw this clip, but a guy driving a dump truck full of manuer saw a very fit guy whip into a handicap spot and jump out of his convertable and run inside a building.
He thought I'll show this jerk what he is, backed his truck up and dumped a big load into the car and moved back to watch the reaction.
When he saw the guy bringing out a frail lady in a wheelchair he felt bad.
Nothing stated may be true as far as we know

The guy driving the car should have pulled closer to the door of the facility and used his emergency flashers when he picked up that frail lady. Problem solved and that's no manure.............NGE

Try driving in Mexifornia where I live. Go to the dr. office and all of the Handicapped spots are full of cars with Baja Plates and expired handicapped placards.
