Found these around town, my inlaws have family here. It was easy to get permission for yard hunting,
Wish i had more time! :'( The first one is really hammered, but it is copper platted with gold. it reads Ira's Frankland Silverton Colo. OB is good for 5 cents in trade with a "5" in the middle.

Nice finds! The Colorado token book says the first one, Ira. S. Franklin, was a billiard parlor & cigar stand ca.1910. It is catalog #SI555. The book says it is brass and it looks that way to me - sometimes the chemistry of the earth does odd things to metals. I think some of the zinc may have been leached out to make it look the way it does. On the other two, the CO book says it was a saloon ca. 1899-1908. They are catalog #SI540Db for the Brunswick reverse and #SI540Da for the plain reverse one.

Oops! John got to going too fast. The catalog number for the Brunswick Balke token is SI542 and while no dates are given for usage, the BB reverse would put it in the 1880-86 range. Very nice finds!

Wow! I'd say you hit the jackpot. I'd also say the guy at the gun show is an idiot. The Landry Bros. token is the only one listed in the Colorado book. All the others are unlisted and most definitely not worthless.

Very nice tokens, the guy at the gun show probably was looking for you to sell them to him cheap!

Re: Tokens from Colo.

Thanks for your responces, I have been surfing the site and just got back.
The guy at the gun show did by a 1873 silver dollar from me that day, but the wife didn't like the look of the guy, chaulk one up for the wife!
I have no idea how much any of these are worth, :read2: unless i find a bunch more when I go back I am not going to buy a book.
The last time we were there we had a snowball fight at the fourth of july parade with the firemen.

I'd say you made a killing. Lot of great tokens from a very collectable Colorado town including several yet unlisted ones. Way to go!
