Nana,I figure at least pre 1950.I have had them twenty some odd years and thought they were old then.I don't know when the railroad stopped using them,but figure they stopped when the diesel engines came into use.

Pretty neat being able to tell what they were used for, most of the ones I have found only have numbers...
