I found this Chauffeur Licence while restoring an
old Grist mill. I was in the basement of the Mill
one day working on the water turbans to get them
back and operational. But while outside the mill
in the creek, I found this "pin" and laid it up to
take home and find out what it was. The Mill it's self
was closed in 1950 after the lake above was built and a lake
dam was built.
I guess the biggest question is, that with the numbers on it,
it belonged to someone. And wonder what the history behind
it is, and who might this have belonged to?
After completly restoring the mill and also in the procces, I dug
everything thing I could up as to the history of the Grist Mill as it
was my job to know after I had it open to the public.
