That is one nice Maverick, unusual shape as well. You might go insane trying to track down that hotel, but that's part of the allure of token hunting.

The one in Gonzales is known as the St. James Inn built in 1914 and is now a bed and breakfast.

The St. James Hotel in Wichita Falls was completed in 1893 and was demolished in 1929.

It is a possibility that this token could have been associated with the later, though it does appear (at least to me) to be older than that. I donno.

It does have an late 1870's to 1880's look to it.

Wouldn't it be neat if this was from the old St. James Hotel in Cimmaron NM? I mean who knows, maybe Wyatt Earp, Pat Garret or Doc Holliday or Bat Masterson or Jesse James...even Billy the Kid used this token at one time......

If only it could talk!
