O.K. I looked this up to see what it looks like. I couldn't find a picture but I did find this,

http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_t...39_Award_medal_with_Greenduck_Co_Chi_as_maker

I can't find the date that this was posted but $9700.00!!!!! If it's even half of that you have an incredible find and a Banner for sure.

I hope this information is correct as I was not able to find anything else.
Maybe you want to contact these people,

http://www.crackerjackcollectors.com/cjcahistory.htm

Best of luck to you,
Paul

I have contacted all the crackerjack folks and all they say is what are you asking for it and I have gotton flooded with emails Do you want to sell ?? my question is were did you come up with a price of $9,700.00 is that what you have seen one sell in the past for. Is it that rare. No one has ever seen one before. I will try to get a good pick. I do have it locked up in a saftey deposit box for safe keeping till we get more info.

As a specialist in tokens and medals, having sold some 2.5 million items, I must agree this is "cute". But, worth $9700? No way!

Until I see the auction catalog, and verify the price, I think think this is TOTALLY BOGUS price. Especially since the poster Tumbleinn2 is the same as the Wiki poster!

As a dug/corroded and fairly ugly Identification Tag, without the Cracker Jack, it might bring $5, at best. Being a Cracker Jack item, and appealing to the CJ buyers, maybe, just maybe up to $100, which I would think is a crazy price. But, $9700? Sorry, I just don't believe it.

The answer to the Wiki.answers is from Tumbleinn. ("I was hunting an old fair ground in northern michigan" and Wiki: "A man in Charlevoix, Michigan has found one wile metal detecting an old ghost town / fairground in Northern Michigan."). Add in the same English mistakes, and there is a strong chance "tumbleinn2" is the same as "Tumbleinn"!

Nice try, Tumbleinn2/Tumbleinn, But, quote a verifiable SOURCE of the so-called $9700 sale and let us check it out. In the meantime, a "cute" item in poor shape, worth $5-10 or so, perhaps more to a crazy CJ collector.

Here is what is posted And I never posted a value! So lets get facts before slaming some one.
I had one that sold at auction for $9700.00. Rare!
First answer by http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Special:Contributions&target=ip:ID1632860570. Who so ever that posted the value could you please come forward and tell us more how this value has come about and what auction did you sell it at.
second answer posted BY Tumbleinn
The 1939 Cracker Jack sales mans award. There are only 2 know to exist. I am the man in Charlevoix, Michigan who has found one wile metal detecting an old ghost town / fairground in Northern Michigan. I still hold the Original 1939 cracker Jack sales men's award today. It was made by greenduck company in Chicago, The current value is unknown and I have contacted the frito lay company that currently owns the Cracker Jack company. Mr. Guzma from Frito Lay told Me to keep it in a safe place. It holds great value.

Lets not forget condition has something to factor in also. Being into coins, collectors buy for rarity but most always factor in condition for pricing! Which can have a great affect on the value!
