    This piece is listed in Schenkman's West Virginia Merchant Tokens book as Parkersburg O5-5 and it says "Smith and Thomas are listed as saloon owners in an 1898-1899 state business directory. By 1900 W. T. Nolan was owner of the Oak Saloon, which was located at 216 4th Street."
