    Re: RR

Made by Fred Wallace Wilcox (W.W. Wilcox), Chicago; began in 1880 as a manufacturer of railroad supplies but best known for baggage checks.

    http://books.google.com/books?id=xlQ...hicago&f=false

This site lists him as William W. Wilcox and some examples:

    http://www.tagtown.net/wilcox.html

The TAA & GT Railroad started as two separate railroads ~

TAA ~ "In 1881, the company was called the Toledo and Ann Arbor Railroad Company, from Toledo to Ann Arbor, 46 miles. It was completed on August 1, 1880."

    http://www.michiganrailroads.com/RRH...oSouthLyon.htm

GT ~ "Grand Trunk Railway was a railway system which operated in the Canadian provinces of Quebec and Ontario, as well as the American states of Connecticut, Maine, Michigan, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Vermont."

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Trunk_Railway

The michiganrailroads link shows the projected 1881 route for the new Toledo, Ann Arbor and Grand Trunk Railway.

Most Wilcox baggage check tags, that I've seen for sale, sell at $100.00 and up. It really depends on which railroad it's for and the condition of the tag. Search "W.W. Wilcox baggage tags" for a general idea.
