Gold camp dog tags, I love them. Would love to fill in the missing years. Cripple Creek 1901, 1904. Victor 1887,1904,1905. The old Victor one was found at the kiddie park while my son was playing. I showed it to him and he did what any kid would do with flimsy metal... he started bending it. Glad it didn't break!!!!These dog tags take a little of the lawlessness away from the towns. Those dogs sure led a different life. Happy Hunting. Thanks oddcoins great thread!

YEAH ~ that is a cool finds! AND it is a new discovery piece! I have the newest edition of Dr. William Bones book US DOG LICENSE TAGS. The current oldest known tag from Redding CT is dated 1931. I will forward this picture to Dr. Bone so he can update this in his database and he will reflect this change in the future printings of his book.

Kinda weird coincidence . . . . i got a report of a 1901 Redding California dog tag today too!

Dog tags are my favorite treasures to dig!

Neil

Here is one from Redding Connecticut, 1927:

I found an 1894 Brigham (city utah) dog tax tag. number 26. I wonder if that is the 26th dog of that year, or for that city?
