The thrill is the find. The fascination is researching your find.

The thrill #1. A Henry C. Welles civil war token.
The thrill #2. A Civil War Veteran's medal. This medal is serial numbered and traceable to the original receipient.

The fascination. In 1865 Henry C. Welles suggested that a day should be set aside to commemorate the lives of soldiers that lost their lives in the Civil War. In 1866, the first Memorial Day was held in Waterloo, NY. These items were found Memorial Day,2011. One hundred forty five years to the day after the first ever Memorial Day.

Yep, main reason I love digging old good for tokens.
Researching where and when the business was located, how long it was there, and who owned it.
    Just part of the fun.
