Coal Tokens & scatter tags FOR SALE?
Hey fellow diggers, Just wanted to let you know that I'm interested in buying any Coal Tokens or ScatterTags.
Coal tokens were used instead of money and are made of many different metals. they will have the value on them
1, 5, 10, 25, and 50 cents & $1.00, and $5.00. Scatter tags are made of aluminum and very thin, like foil They wer used in the 1920's- 1950's to advertise the type of coal was in a railcar or truck. You might even find them made of a layered paper in the same area. Tags only have the type of coal, stoker, washed, darby, anthracite, ligget, and others or the companies name or
logo such as Orient, Big Red, Red Bar, Glen Burn etc... Tags will be found around railroad tracks or where they used to be or around coal yards and even sometimes around old coal houses. I collect both Coal Tokens, and Tags. Please contact me if you are interested in selling some of your find... THANKS...
