Re: Any info on this token !
It appears to me to say: W / 1806 / Fort St. -- if so, my bet would be that it is from Detroit, MI. If you can post better pics (use the macro setting on your camera), I can run it by the current MI token cataloger.

There's a West Fort Street in Detroit; is that near you? If so, you may wish to ask those in the area if they know anything about what use to be (or is still) at that specific address.

Hi flakefinder,
See if you can ID those symbols, it may help you come up with more info about who issued the tokens.
I'm checking into the 1306 w fort street for you, I'll let you know what I come up with.

Re: Any info on this token !
The 1916 city directory & the 1917 gazetteer both list Edward Kagler as a barber at 1306 W. Fort St. The 1919 gazetteer has Edward Cole as a barber at that address. The 1911 city directory has Martin B. Rowen as a coal dealer there. None of these would explain the W on the token.
My guess is that somewhere between 1911 and 1920 someone with a W in their name issued the token but I have been unable to find them. The address doesn't exist after 1920 when Detroit renumbered the streets.

Re: Any info on this token !
Detroit is about a hundred miles away, I was wondering if it could have something to do with fort Custer Military Base which is only a few miles away from where it was found. I found a map of the old base but I cant make out the street names , I am trying to find a better map. But sure thank every body for trying if I find any thing I will post it, if you find any thing more let me know and thanks again.
