Been awhile since I've dug any tokens, was starting to worry that I was losing my touch.
Finally managed to pull out a couple, both for cigars.
I've been told that the Brown Bothers is from 1885-1901, and may have been used more as a gaming chip. (This one has a "25" on the reverse, a few years ago I dug a "10")
The Denver is Good For 5cts, and it's not in the token book.
I found a few references for individuals with that last name in the cigar biz, but not Richman Bros.
I have most of the business directories for Denver, but missing a few from the 1890's.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for looking,
Carl

The Brown Bros. token is from a series of Brown Brothers tokens issued in the late 1800s. These Detroit, Michigan cigar makers reportedly were in business from 1885 until at least the turn of the last century. Tokens of the same design and size were struck in denominations of 5, 10, and 25. Some collectors have suggested that these pieces were given out as advertising game counters, to be used like poker chips. Other insist that they are simply ordinary trade tokens. In the past, they've often been valued at $3-5 apiece, Very Fine or better; but recently I've seen several sold online for $10-15.

Sorry I'm taking so long to respond, work, detecting, procrastinating, etc.
Yeah, once I got home I pulled out all my tokens and found the "10" Detroit one.
Was mainly curious to the Denver, Richmond Bros, I have most, but not all of the Denver business directories, and the years that I'm
missing seem to always be the ones that the business was recorded.
Thanks again all!

Thanks John, I just need more time to get down to the main branch of the library, and do some hands on research.
Ironic, since I work at Denver Public Library, just not the main one.
