A co worker brought this into work last night to aswk me if I could find any information on it. I've only just now had the chance to start looking around for info and thought I would post it here to see what others may be able to come up with. He got it in change and realized later that it was not a quarter.

Just a little larger than a quarter it has a smooth edge and the design and lettering is identical on both sides. Has the word "POPEYE" twice around the edge on both sides. No date and appears to be made most likely of aluminium. My guess is that it is certainly a token but just now trying to track down any info about it. I'm sure someone here has seen one of these before. I could be wrong I guess but sure screams token to me or some sort of weird play money coin I guess but seems to strike me as more of a token and possibly a game token. Pictured with quarter for size reference. TIA for any info! HH!

Sure looks like a relatively modern (1975-date) amusement or video arcade token. Those are most often made of a white metal alloy rather than aluminum which would be very light. No ideas on where Popeye's was tho...
