Had a nice Thanksgiving Holiday weekend and also dug a few local Seafood Industry tokens.

These two are Brass D. L. & D. C0. Dunbars's Lopez & Dukate. Circa 1908. Biloxi, MS. Piece work tokens. Unlisted in Chathams Book.

This one is a heartbreaker.....
Barataria Canning Co. Biloxi, Mississippi. Girls Labor Check. Circa 1885-1920. Listed in Chathams book as a R10.
If anyone has any cleaning advice, please share.

Those are cool. Real historic, a reminder of child labor, being paid in tokens instead of American cash, redeemable at the company store. Sure glad those practices went away. Or at least it's unseen now. Thanks for sharing.

Nice finds. A wooden toothpick might get some of that crust off without damaging it. Dont use metal or you will scratch it.
