Aluminum tokens were not really very popular until 1900 or so (they were introduced at the Chicago Columbian Exposition in 1891). These probably are from the Spanish-American War. Have you looked for them on tokencatalog? There may be more info there.

I've just added the octagonal token - but please measure it "across the flats" so I can add that info.

On the round one, I'm having a hard time reading it. I see on the obverse, the top line is TROOP '___" 6TH CAVALRY . Can you determine what letter is between the quotes? And is it 6th Cavalry for sure? Also, the bottom line ends with an S - can you make out any more?

Yes after careful looking obverse state post exchange token, five cents, front is a 6 for sure
