That's A very good question. I've researched on tokens some and there are millions of them. Sorry.

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.

In 1895 the Army initiated the Exchange system.
That may be the oldest possible date for your Exchange token.
    Great finds !

Aluminum tokens were not really very popular until 1900 or so (they were introduced at the Chicago Columbian Exposition in 1891). These probably are from the Spanish-American War. Have you looked for them on tokencatalog? There may be more info there.

Jim--feel free to add to tokencatalog. That is the only way it grows. Or, with permission to use your pics, I can add them.

I've just added the octagonal token - but please measure it "across the flats" so I can add that info.

On the round one, I'm having a hard time reading it. I see on the obverse, the top line is TROOP '___" 6TH CAVALRY . Can you determine what letter is between the quotes? And is it 6th Cavalry for sure? Also, the bottom line ends with an S - can you make out any more?

Okay - what do both of the tokens measure? Or take a pic with a smaller coin on each and I can calculate
