Jim--congratulations on your find! Hopefully it is just the first of many tokens you find. Tokens are generally extremely rare in comparison with coins. They were generally made in the hundreds or perhaps thousands. Compare that with the cent you have in the photo: There were 4,424,800,000 of them made! But don't confuse rarity with value. There is a fairly limited number of collectors of tokens, so with the law of supply and demand being in effect, a dozen of a given token might make it "common". Usually, tokens are more prized if they are from a small town than those from a large city like St. Louis. Check a site like eBay for values of tokens, but look at the "sold listings" rather than asking or starting prices.
