Sorry posted this in the what is it section. I didn't realize there was a spot just for tokens.

I think this is pre-prohibition. I beleive the whiskey was made in St. Louis by Hellman Distiliing but I cannot confirm this.

Anyone have any ideas or answers?

Tried to help with the research of your token......Don't have much but here's a site I found that does list the maker......as American.........and from Missouri. It was probably a local brew....http://www.awa.dk/whisky/windex.htm

Good luck,

RR

Yes the only other info I found was that it was made by the Hillman Distillery in St. Louis. Can't seem to find a time it was made. Someone did PM me and tell me it was a rare token.

It is cool I can say that. :)

Thanks PBK that was more than I could find out and I have been working on this since I found the darn thing. Now if I can just figure out what to put on it to preserve it everything will be perfect!

I'm not sure just when it was issued, but evidently the date is sometime prior to 1902.

This is based on the fact that it is listed in American Business Tokens by Dr. Benjamin P. Wright, a book which originally appeared in the form of American Store Cards , serially published in The Numismatist , the journal of the American Numismatic Association, between January 1898 and December 1901.
