An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.

Its a piece of Chinese 'spade' money.
Spade money was an early form of coin and commodity money used during the Zhou dynasty of China.
Spade money was shaped like a spade or weeding tool.

My first caution: Because of the novelty appearance of this money, replicas abound.

Don, thank you for the info! I too am wary of replicas. I'm not sure how to tell the difference on something like this. Thanks again.
