does anyone use rechargeable nimh batt.-any pros or cons about them?
and if so can someone recommend the best brand?
would appreciate any feed back i can get.
id like to cut cost on buying batteries without sacrificing performance.
thanks all!
As my batteries get weaker i lose alot of depth on my tejon.
it really goes deep on new batteries.

Re: nimh rechargeable batteries?
I dont use them. What I do is go to the local 99 cent store an get all my batterys there. I check the expiration date and they are as good if not better as the big box stores at a far better price. I have had the best luck with AC Delco and Panasonic batterys.
I'll just follow you with My E-trac ! ! ! !

well i bought these on advice from someone here at treasurenet and they are the best battery, bar none, i have used. i purchased the charger and 8 AA batteries and they are expensive but well worth it.
they last longer than any store bought battery or other rechargeables . the power im getting from these batteries are stunning.

Re: nimh rechargeable batteries?
Glad that they worked out for you. I've been using them for ~ 3 months now in my Explorer II in the alkaline pack. My battery meter usually never even moves from full even after a full day of hunting. I'm using my own "smart" charger and it does a great job with these batteries.

It's been right at a year and had my first problem with these batteries. Pack seemed to charge OK but ran out in about 1/2 hr in the field. Pulled all of the cells and inspected them. Two had started to leak and were low on the tester. Had some extra ones, replaced the two and now no problems.
They are warrented for a year but I did not keep the receipt. So hang onto the receipt as you may need it!
I did call them about this and they sent me a free replacement 4pc pack.

Re: nimh rechargeable batteries?
Regarding this website, http://www.greenbatteries.com/noname.html, did you guys get the greenbatteries brand or the power rex brand? Both my detectors use 9volt batteries, and I'm currently using some energizer rechargables, I notice that they only last for about 6 hours. Looking to replace them and get a new charger.

The Past Tells the Future! Let's try not to do it over .
Re: nimh rechargeable batteries?
I have been using the Rechargeable battery's now in both the AA and the 9 Volt in the Nickel Metal type and I am not seeing any less time of use than the Alkaline type battery's .
What I did do was check the battery's that I got and made sure that I got the highest rated amp hour ones I could find that would still fit . I say that will fit as some of the higher amp hour rated battery's are a little larger than the standard battery size and may not fit in your battery case .
Now I will say that I take out the battery's at around 8 hours and change them out for recharged ones and I always carry an extra set with me of both types just in case I run them dead . But so far they are working great for me !
I would buy a set and test them out in your detectors and see how they work for you , because they do save some money in buying battery's . Not that they cost a lot but every little bit saved helps .
Few things I love to do is , Metal Detecting for anything of the past!
Making Detectors better ! Tuning and finding ways to upgrade Detector hardware , To make them work the Best that is possable !

Re: nimh rechargeable batteries?
Ok that gives me some what of an answer, but now I have more questions. On that website, there are four types of "9 volt" batteries, they are as follows
Greenbatteries brand NiMH 9V 250mAh rechargeable battery
Power Rex Maha 9.6V 230mAh Rechargeable NiMH Battery
Imedion Maha 230 mAh 9.6V ULSD NiMH Imedion Battery
Imedion Maha 250 mAh 8.4V ULSD NiMH Imedion Battery
So two of these as you can see are 9.6v 230 mah, 1 is 9v 250mah, and the other is 8.4 250mah. The price differences jump all over the place, except the two Imedion's, they are the same price. Which would be the best?
