I have a long handle scoop that is aluminium. Its a rtg scoop. When i use it some of the aluminium wears off on my arm (the part under my forearm) i guess its from the way i hold it when shaking the sand out of it. Does anyone else have the same problem? If so what do you do. I used some paint on the handle but some paint wears off.

It is a reaction of oils and sweat from your body. You can try wrapping the part that hits your skin. I use golf grip wrap on mine. You can also pick up grip wrap for baseball bats at your local sporting good store. Good luck. Arty

Go to the local dive shop. Get a piece of wetsuit foam. Sometimes they'll just give you a piece if they have some for patching. Cut a piece big enough to cover & either use glue (3M headliner adhesive or shoe Goo) or stitch it around the pole. You can use this to replace the pad on the armband of your detector too!
