I use the Maxpedition Jumbo Versipack. It is the best EDC carry bag made. All of Maxpedition's products are the best. Most all the backpasks have hydration compartments.

Here's mine.

I use a electrician's pouch that someone modified for me (he does leather work)
It holds my lesche, screwdriver, folded-up tarp, and pinpionter. I should really take a pic of it. It works very very well

I HAVE NOTICED THAT THE DISTANCE THAT I HAVE TO WALK TO GET TO MY SITE DICTATES
WHAT AND HOW MUCH I CARRY. I TEND TO CARRY MY STUFF ON WHEELS AS CLOSE TO MY SITE AS I CAN.

'yup, theres gold up there. I have yet to indulge myself but I think this is the year. I'll be taking my pan and XLT and search for some black sand. If nothing else it's a great excuse to go camping !!!

The bag can either be a backpack or a stachel. I use like a satchel because backpack mode is way too annoying o take on and off and chaffes my armpit that I swing with. I loosly tie my bandana on the strap. The tackle box fits in the back pocket of the satchel to add riggidity. On the front of the satchel I added a loop to drop my shovel in. I mostly use the satchel for trash and just keep my valueable finds in my front right pocket. Keep my pin pointer in my back right pocket and my spade in my back left. I am thinking of switching to a tool belt so I dont fill my pockets with dirt.
