Garrett Pro-Pointer on the way... any tips?

    Greetings,

I just ordered a Garrett Pro-Pointer. I am all done with that free piece of crap Kellyco sent me. I am hoping this new one lives up to it's expectations. It was highly recommended by all of you here.

Is there anything I should know about this pinpointer that the manual may not tell me?

    Thanks for your time,

    Gio

A tip not related to the operation of the unit but I know a number of users have done it. Take some brightly colored tape (electrical "phasing" tape) and wrap around the handle a time or two to help make it more visible when you're in the woods hunting. The matte black finish of the pro-pointer makes it easy to misplace in the moment. Same tip can apply to your digging tools as well.

Yes, easy to loose or leave behind. Take a tape label maker with a small font / narrow tape, put you name and phone # under the battery cap and in the battery cavity.

I did not like the probe holder provided and made one from PVC for my finds pouch:

Gio, just turn in on and enjoy. Tip: when using your Propointer in busy places like a park, cover the little speaker hole with you thumb while using it.

Maybe Ill kill two birds with one stone and put Orange tape over the speaker, lol.

Thanks for the help guys... I have a lil plastic shovel that I use from time to time that is black... it's getting tape too.
